    dejected (adj): unhappy and disappointed
    discouraged. EX: He was dejected to learn
    that he had failed the examination.

    2. P141, 8th line
    luminous (adj):shining in the dark
    EX: The east grows faintly luminous.

    3. P149, 13th line
    syringe (noun):a plastic or glass tube with
    a long hollow needle that is used for
    putting drugs, etc. EX: a disposable syringe

    4. P149, 16th line
    wince (verb):to suddenly make an expression
    with your face that shows that you are
    feeling pain or embarrassment. EX: He
    didn’t wince under the blow.


    5. P157, 3rd line from down
    emphatically (adv):an emphatic statement,
    answer, etc. EX: It is emphatically not true

  2. 1- Page 157, bottom of page: Remarkable (Adj): Someone that is remarkable is unusual or special way that makes people notice them and be surprised or impressed.
    Ex: He was remarkable man.

    2- Page 154 top of page :anguished(Adj): means showing or feeling great mental suffering or physical pain

    2- Page 140 middle of page: possessed (Adj).If someone is possessed of a particular feeling or belief ,they have that feeling or belief.

    3- Page 160 bottom of page: Concern (noun): concern is worry about a situation.

    Ex: There is no cause for concern

  3. Pg. 147 Astonished: to strike with sudden and usually great wonder or surprise. Sample Sentence: He was astonished and delighted that this was available to him.

    Speech: the ceremony would not be disrupted- such a disruption would be unthinkable.
    Sample sentence: No one is allowed to disrupt the President's Speech.

    Speech: Because i've been a little selfish.
    Sample sentence: Some people are selfish.They don't care for others.

    Sample sentence : it's too bitter to see someone in pain.

    a short trip that is taken in the performance of a necessary task or mission
    5. p. 160 in the middle
